Statement
I enjoy working in one of the oldest forms of visual entertainment. Oil, gouache, and ink allows me to capture, at that moment, the beautiful, vivid colors and shapes of any subject. I have found that using my film training I can create images with a narrative style. I love how, by manipulating the lines, colors, and perspective of the subject, a viewer can create a unique story in their mind with their own experiences and ideology. No one sees an image the same way.

But the arid lands called, so Christeen moved to Phoenix, AZ to work for and learn about art gallery sales. As time progressed, the siren call to paint the illuminous landscapes of New Mexico was heard. Before focusing on painting full time, she worked for the Albuquerque Museum and painted sets for the Albuquerque Civic Light Opera. She is also member of the NM Art League. Christeen gets her inspiration for her paintings from the variety of cultures in the southwest to the way the high desert light reflects on the landscape.
